about my work

I work in oil on canvas. My work is very textured. I use a pallette knife to mould, cut, smooth, scratch, score and polish the oil paint. I also use modelling paste to build up very thick layers of texture under the paint.

I work from the wonderful landscape of county donegal where I live. Much of the work is abstract, but I also sometimes make quite clear images of mountains, particularly Errigal and the huge ridges above the Poison Glen.

I have recently started to add small patches of gold coloured metal foil to some of my work.

I exhibit at the Glebe Gallery in Churchill, Ross Fine Art in Letterkenny and I am a member of a group of 4 artists - Donegal Elemental Women (DEW)
